Refund Policy
This Refund Policy explains when and how FOMO processes refunds for transactions made through our platform. All monetary refunds are processed by Paytm Payment Gateway — FOMO does not independently hold or refund any funds.
FOMO is a technology pass-through platform. Monetary refunds are always returned to your original payment source by Paytm PG. FOMO Balance (discount credits and reward credits) is non-monetary and cannot be refunded as cash.
1. Understanding Your FOMO Balance
Before reading this policy it is important to understand what FOMO Balance is and is not:
- FOMO Balance represents accumulated discount credits, cashback rewards, and referral bonuses — not real money you deposited
- FOMO Balance has no cash equivalent and cannot be withdrawn to a bank account or UPI ID
- FOMO does not offer a top-up or wallet loading feature — there is no user-funded balance on the platform
- When a transaction is refunded, the monetary refund goes to your bank account via Paytm PG; the discount credit and points earned on that transaction are simultaneously reversed in your FOMO ledger
2. Payment Refunds — Venue Transactions
2.1 Successfully Completed Transactions
Payments made at partner venues through the FOMO QR code or in-app checkout are generally non-refundable once the service or product has been delivered, including:
- Food and beverages consumed at a restaurant or cafe
- Gaming credits or game sessions at a gamezone or arcade
- Entertainment services already enjoyed at any partner venue
2.2 Defective or Undelivered Service
If you received a defective product or the service was not delivered as promised, raise a dispute within 24 hours:
- Email legal@payfomo.in with your transaction ID, venue name, issue description, and supporting evidence
FOMO will investigate and mediate between you and the partner venue
- If a refund is approved, Paytm PG processes it to your original payment source within 5 to 7 working days
- Refund requests raised more than 24 hours after the transaction will not be considered
2.3 Duplicate or Erroneous Transactions
If you were charged twice for the same transaction, or an incorrect amount was charged:
- Contact support@payfomo.in within 48 hours with both transaction IDs
- FOMO will verify with Paytm PG and initiate a reversal within 2 working days of confirmation
- Reversed amount will be credited to your original payment source within 5 to 7 working days
3. Prebooking Cancellation Policy
3.1 User-Initiated Cancellations
Cancellations must be made through the FOMO app. Verbal or WhatsApp cancellations to the venue will not be considered.
- Cancellation more than 24 hours before booking time: Full refund to original payment source within 3 working days
- Cancellation between 6 and 24 hours before booking time: 50% refund to original payment source
- Cancellation less than 6 hours before booking time: No refund
- No-show without cancellation: No refund
3.2 Venue-Initiated Cancellations
- If a partner venue cancels your confirmed prebooking: Full refund to original payment source within 2 working days
- FOMO points compensation of 50 points will be additionally credited for the inconvenience
- Repeated cancellations by a venue will result in review and potential delisting from the platform
4. Preorder Cancellation Policy
- Cancellation more than 2 hours before scheduled order time: Full refund to original payment source
- Cancellation within 2 hours of order time: Refund at the discretion of the partner venue
- Orders already prepared by the venue at the time of cancellation: No refund
- If the venue fails to prepare your preorder: Full refund to original payment source within 2 working days
5. FOMO Points and Rewards
- FOMO points are non-refundable and have no cash value
- Points cannot be transferred between accounts or converted to INR
- Points earned on a refunded transaction are automatically reversed from your balance
- Promotional cashback credits reversed on refund are purely ledger adjustments with no monetary impact
- Points expire 12 months from the date earned if not redeemed
6. Influencer Creator Earnings
- Confirmed commission earnings that have been paid out to a creator's bank account or Paytm wallet via Paytm Payouts are non-refundable
- If a transaction on which a commission was earned is subsequently refunded, the commission for that specific transaction will be deducted from the creator's next payout cycle
- Creators cannot request reversal of TDS deducted — Form 16A will be issued for tax filing purposes
7. Discount Treatment on Refunds
- All refunds are calculated on the actual amount paid by the user after the discount was applied
- The discount is not refunded as it was never charged to the user
Example: If you paid ₹450 after a 10% discount on a ₹500 bill, a full refund will be ₹450 — not ₹500
8. Refund Processing Timelines
- Paytm PG to bank account via UPI: 5 to 7 working days
- Paytm PG to credit or debit card: 7 to 14 working days
- Paytm PG to net banking: 5 to 10 working days
- FOMO ledger adjustment (discount credits and points): 1 to 2 working days
- Working days exclude Sundays and national public holidays. Timelines are estimates and may vary based on your bank's processing time.
9. Non-Refundable Situations
- The service or product was fully delivered and enjoyed
- Cancellation request made outside the eligible window
- Transaction flagged as potentially fraudulent by Paytm PG or FOMO
- Refund request made more than 7 days after the transaction date
- Account suspended for violation of Terms of Service
- Dispute raised directly with the bank (chargeback) without first contacting FOMO support
10. How to Request a Refund
- Step 1: Email support@payfomo.in with subject "Refund Request — [Transaction ID]"
- Step 2: Include your registered mobile number, transaction ID, venue name, transaction date, and reason
- Step 3: Attach supporting evidence such as screenshots or venue receipts
- Step 4: Our team acknowledges within 24 hours and responds with a decision within 5 working days
